PLDO Partner Matthew C. Reeber to Lead Workshops on “Advanced Employment Law: What You Need to Know”

Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC (PLDO) Partner Matthew C. Reeber, a prominent employment law attorney and litigator, has been invited to present at the National Business Institute’s (NBI) “Advanced Employment Law: What You Need to Know” seminar series on December 5 and 6, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1 Thurber Street in Warwick, RI.

Attorney Reeber will lead workshops on Tuesday, December 5 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on “LGBT/Sexual Orientation Discrimination: Navigating the Changing Legal Landscape,” immediately followed by a seminar on “Handling Employee Discrimination and Harassment Claims.” The following day, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., he will cover the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and later in the day from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Attorney Reeber will lead a discussion on “Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace: Medical Marijuana and Other Considerations.” For more information on the two-day event, continuing education credits for attorneys and other professionals, and to register, log on to Advanced Employment Law: What You Need to Know.

Attorney Reeber is a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation Teams and a frequent speaker on employment law issues and advisor to employers concerning workplace legal matters. He has handled numerous cases arising under state and federal anti-discrimination and anti-retaliation statutes, wage and hour statutes, whistleblower statutes, family and medical leave statutes, unemployment compensation statutes and claims for wrongful termination. As part of his practice, he frequently appears before all Rhode Island state and federal courts, as well as administrative and regulatory agencies on behalf of his clients.

For the past seven years, he has been named a Rhode Island Super Lawyers Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, a distinction that recognizes the top 2.5 percent of New England lawyers under the age of forty or those in practice for ten years or less. Attorney Reeber earned his J.D. from Tulane University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in American Studies and History, cum laude, from Colby College. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.
