David P. Craven is a Partner with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC. As a member of the firm’s Estate and Trust Planning, Administration and Litigation Team, he provides clients with sophisticated estate planning, asset protection, wealth preservation, and tax minimization strategies.

Attorney Craven’s diverse experience encompasses not only wills, trusts and estates and probate administration/litigation, but also criminal and civil litigation, and corporate and business law. He routinely advises clients with business incorporation and succession plans to ensure they are positioned for success, now and in the future. Prior to joining PLDO, he built a successful private practice counseling clients on business formation and risk management, contract disputes, estate planning and elder care.

As a former Rhode Island State Prosecutor who spent five years working in the Attorneys General’s Office, Attorney Craven handled organized, white collar and narcotics crimes but was also devoted to fighting child, elder and animal abuse. This fueled his fierce devotion to protecting his clients today by performing fiduciary duties, enforcing lawful provisions in wills/trusts, challenging illegitimate provisions/documents, establishing guardianships for loved ones in need, reporting elder abuse and neglect, and providing aging adults with Advance Care Planning and Advanced Directives to ensure their final wishes are detailed and upheld.

Attorney Craven devotes much of his spare time to educational, community and philanthropic causes. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of attorneys and young professionals, as well as expanding children’s knowledge and skills outside the classroom. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Community College of Rhode Island, where he educates students about the legal system. When Attorney Craven is not protecting “people,” he is harnessing his love for animals to advocate for their well-being. He has sat on boards of various animal welfare organizations and has worked with several dog rescue organizations where he fosters, trains and socializes dogs to prepare them for adoption.

Attorney Craven earned his Juris Doctor from New England School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies and Political Science from the University of Rhode Island. He is licensed to practice in Rhode Island.
