Biography/Practice Areas
Kathryn M. Couture is an Associate with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC and a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Litigation Teams. She represents clients in all stages of litigation, including in pre-trial investigation and discovery, motion practice and pleadings, trial, negotiations and settlements, and appeals.
Attorney Couture launched her legal career as a Law Clerk at PLDO and is an experienced legal researcher and writer. Specifically, as a Law Clerk, Attorney Couture assisted in obtaining summary judgment in complex federal court claims, including one brought against a municipality, its administrator, and police department alleging wrongful termination, as well as a highly contested civil rights claim in which she briefed several constitutional issues.
Attorney Couture earned her J.D. from New England Law Boston, cum laude, where she was part of the Sandra Day O’Connor Honors Program and a Sandra Day O’Connor Full Tuition Merit Scholarship recipient. In addition, she was a New England Scholar Award recipient, received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Negotiation, and was an Associate Member of the New England Law Review. She was also an Honors Judicial Intern for the Honorable Anthony M. Campo, Jr. in Suffolk County (Massachusetts) Superior Court. Attorney Couture graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Political Science. She is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and in the U.S. District Courts for the District of Rhode Island and the District of Massachusetts.
