Biography/Practice Areas
Mitchell J. Young is an Associate with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC and a member of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Special Masterships Teams. His practice involves working with the firm’s Special Mastership in Prison Monitoring Team for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California and is responsible for monitoring prison reform compliance and progress in the implementation of mandatory mental health screening, diagnosis and treatment of prisoners throughout the California prison system.
Attorney Young is a skilled litigator who has navigated clients through numerous complex civil litigation cases, ranging from complex injury claims, traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, insurance disputes, and probate. He also carries experience in alternative dispute resolution, representing clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Prior to joining PLDO, Attorney Young was a Litigation Attorney for a full-service law firm, where he routinely appeared in Rhode Island and Massachusetts courts and coordinated pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial work. While in law school, he interned at the Rhode Island Department of Administration and Rhode Island Office of Regulatory Reform. He also completed an externship in the Strategic Procurement Division of CVS Health, Inc. prior to launching his career in the greater Providence area.
Attorney Young earned his Juris Doctor degree from Roger Williams University School of Law and his Bachelors degree in Criminology, cum laude, from West Virginia University. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
