Reeber, a prominent employment lawyer and litigator, will present “New Wage Equity Law is Coming Soon. Are You Ready?” to members of the Rhode Island Assisted Living Association (RIALA) on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Beginning January 1, 2023, Rhode Island employers will be subject to a new and sweeping law designed to promote pay equity and fairness in the workplace. The Wage Equity Law will have major implications on businesses and subject employers to substantial liability even where employers mistakenly or innocently violate the law’s requirements. The presentation will address the law’s requirements, best practices for avoiding claims for violating the pay equity law, and how employers can comply with the law’s wage disclosure requirements while minimizing impact in their workplace.
