Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara Promotes Two Attorneys to Senior Counsel

Rhode Island – January 18, 2023 – Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC (PLDO) Managing Principal Gary R. Pannone today announced that Joshua J. Butera and Michael F. Ryan, Jr. were promoted to Senior Counsel.

Joshua J. Butera, Senior Counsel

Attorney Butera is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Business Law,  Municipal Law and Cannabis Law Teams. He concentrates his practice assisting clients in the areas of corporate compliance, administrative and regulatory law, policy and contract law and other general private and public sector issues. For his professional excellence, Attorney Butera was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2023 as a Best Lawyers: Ones To Watch in the practice area of Corporate Law.

Attorney Butera graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Political Science and earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, cum laude, where he was the Managing Editor of the Boston University Law Review. Michael F. Ryan Jr., Senior Counsel

Attorney Ryan is a member of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Special Masterships Teams.

He focuses his practice working with the firm’s Special Mastership in Prison Monitoring Team for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, responsible for monitoring prison reform compliance and progress in the implementation of mandatory mental health screening, diagnosis and treatment of prisoners throughout the California prison system. As a result of his achievements and skills, Attorney Ryan was selected by his peers and named a 2023 Best Lawyers: Ones To Watch in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Attorney Ryan graduated from the University of Rhode Island, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in Political Science and earned his J.D. from the University of Massachusetts School of Law, summa cum laude, where he was Executive Notes Editor of the Law Review.
